Leif (pronouced life) was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on May 8, 2008  at 3:06 PM (HST) and was named after his great grandfather Leif Christensen. 

 

Carolyn and Tim had been married for almost 5 years when they found out Carolyn was pregnant with little Leif.  They had always planned on having children but Leif was still a pleasant surprise.  The moment Carolyn and Tim learned of the news they made calls to every person they had a phone number for.  The excitement was overwhelming, and they had no idea the best was still yet to come!

 

Carolyn's pregnancy with Leif went perfectly normal.  She even went into labor on her due date but Leif wasn't born until the following day.  It was a long and painful delivery but in the end Carolyn gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby boy weighing 6lbs 9.2oz and measuring 19.5 inches in length!

At 2 months old Tim, Carolyn and Leify fly to New Jersey where many friends and family gather to meet Leify for the first time.  A huge party is arranged in his honor!

Carolyn and Leify start the "dollar in the diaper" joke.  The inside joke quickly becomes popular within the family.

At 4 months old Leify tries rice cereal for the first time.  And he doesn't like it too much at first...

While Carolyn was at work on Saturdays, Tim and Marie (Carolyn's sister) would take care and watch over Leif.  Tim and Marie took Leify swimming in a pool for the first time on Saturday, October 4th.  Since then this date has become Tim's favorite memory with his son.

At 5 months old, Leify starts to sit up on his own!  Carolyn and Tim were so amazed!

Passed away from SIDS on October 18, 2008.
